Sriperumbudur, Irungattukottai and Oragadam are the heart of Tamil Nadu's auto and electronics manufacturing. Plants here need large, reliable teams for three shifts, and they face frequent customer audits. Godstone Consultech recruits, onboards, pays and supports contract and temporary staff for these plants from our Chennai office, which is close enough for the same-day visits a busy line needs.
Share the SIPCOT park or pin code, the roles and the shift pattern. We aim to reply within one working day with a rate card and a sourcing plan.
We do not have a branch in Sriperumbudur, and we do not pretend to. Our team works from Guindy and Pallikaranai in Chennai, 40 to 60 km from most SIPCOT parks in the belt, which is usually an hour or two by road. That is close enough to hold interviews at your gate, attend a morning shift briefing or sort out an attendance problem the same day.
Workers are recruited locally, from Sriperumbudur, Sunguvarchatram, Kanchipuram, Walajabad, Padappai and Thiruvallur, as well as from Chennai's western suburbs. They go on our payroll with PF, ESI and Tamil Nadu deductions handled by us.
The Sriperumbudur belt stretches from Irungattukottai to Oragadam and Vallam Vadagal. Pick your park to see who operates there, the roles most requested and the commute issues to plan for.
Not sure which park or local body your plant falls under? It matters for the minimum-wage zone and for professional tax. Send the plant address and we will check.
In our experience, plants in this belt run into the same four issues. Plan for them before the first batch reports.
Most plants are a long way from a railway station. We start sourcing along your existing bus routes, so a worker's commute depends on your bus, not on a share-auto.
Big electronics employers now house thousands of women workers in company or SIPCOT-built hostels. If you do not offer housing, look for candidates who live nearby, or budget for a hostel tie-up and state it in the offer.
The OSH Code lets women work before 6 a.m. and after 7 p.m. with their consent and the safety conditions the State sets: transport, lighting, supervision and an Internal Committee. We collect written consent and check the arrangements before rostering.
Customer audits of electronics and auto suppliers check recruitment fees, working hours, age proof and whether original documents are held. We charge workers no fee, verify age and identity, and return every original document the same day.
Assembly and production operators are the bulk of the work. The harder roles to fill are skilled machine operators and maintenance technicians. For each role we screen for the skill your line actually uses.
| Role | Where the demand is | What we check before deployment |
|---|---|---|
| Assembly & production operators | Electronics SEZ, Irungattukottai supplier park | Dexterity and colour-vision test, age and identity verification, three-shift availability, hostel or commute check |
| SMT / electronics operators | SIPCOT Sriperumbudur, Oragadam electronics units | ESD awareness, reading feeder setups and work instructions, AOI defect recognition |
| CNC / VMC operators | Oragadam, Vallam Vadagal, Pillaipakkam | Machine-specific trade test, offset and tool change, gauge use, first-piece approval |
| Quality inspectors | All parks, especially auto tier-1 suppliers | Vernier and micrometer test, reading control plans, 5S and defect-logging practice |
| Maintenance technicians | Oragadam, Irungattukottai | Electrical or mechanical trade test, PLC basics where needed, lock-out/tag-out understanding |
| Forklift & warehouse staff | Mambakkam, NH48 warehouses | Licence verification, practical load test, scanner and FIFO trial |
| Apprentices & trainees | Plants building an entry-level pipeline | ITI or diploma verification, and registration under the apprenticeship scheme instead of a mislabelled contract |
Most plants in the belt sit in panchayat or small-town areas, not inside Greater Chennai. That changes the wage zone and the professional-tax authority. These are the rules to check before you sign a manpower contract here.
| Rule | What applies in the Sriperumbudur belt | What we handle |
|---|---|---|
| Minimum wages | Tamil Nadu fixes minimum wages by scheduled employment (for example engineering, electronics or plastics) and by zone. The zone depends on the local body: corporation, municipality, town panchayat or village panchayat. Many SIPCOT plots sit in panchayat areas, so the zone can be lower than Chennai's Zone A. The VDA is revised every April. | We confirm the schedule and zone from your plant address. Our rates never go below the notified figure, and most plants in the belt pay well above it anyway. |
| Professional tax | Collected half-yearly by the local body where the employee works, whether a town panchayat, municipality or village panchayat. Slabs can differ from Greater Chennai's. | We register with the right local body and remit twice a year. |
| OSH Code: factories | Since 21 November 2025 the OSH Code has replaced the Factories Act. Plants need registration under the Code, and working hours, overtime (paid at twice the wage rate), canteen, first-aid and welfare duties apply. Creche facilities apply at 50 or more employees under the Social Security Code. | We keep our workers' hours and overtime inside your plant's limits and record them on the muster roll we maintain. |
| Contract labour | Contract-labour provisions and contractor licensing apply at 50 or more contract workers. The Code bars contract labour in 'core activities', with listed exceptions: work ordinarily done through contractors, work that does not need full-time workers, and a sudden increase in volume that must be completed in a set time. Tamil Nadu's own rules under the Code were still at draft stage in September 2026. | We check headcount, licensing and the core-activity question with you before deployment, not after an inspection. |
| Women at night | Women can work night shifts with written consent and the safeguards the State sets: transport, security and lighting, rest rooms and a functioning Internal Committee under the POSH Act. | We keep individual consent forms on file and brief every worker before rostering. |
| Welfare fund & permanence | Tamil Nadu Labour Welfare Fund: ₹20 from the employee and ₹40 from the employer each year, paid by 31 January. Separately, the 1981 Act on permanent status gives a workman who completes 480 days in 24 months a claim to permanence. | We pay LWF for every worker on our rolls. For long-running roles we help you plan fixed-term or permanent hiring early. |

New lines and model launches are where a Sriperumbudur agency earns its fee. This is how we plan a ramp-up. The dates depend on your headcount curve and on how much training the line needs.
We agree the week-by-week headcount, shift split, gender mix, transport and housing with your HR and production teams.
Referrals, ITI and polytechnic contacts in Kanchipuram and Thiruvallur districts, job portals, and walk-ins held at or near your plant.
Dexterity or trade test, age and identity proof, address check and medical fitness where your process needs it.
Appointment letters, UAN and ESIC enrolment, bank details, induction and PPE issue, one batch at a time, so your training cell is never overloaded.
Daily attendance check-ins in the first weeks, quick replacements for early leavers and a weekly review of attrition reasons with your HR.
Monthly payroll and compliance pack. When a seasonal peak ends, we release workers with full and final settlement paid on time.
What plant HR and operations teams in the belt ask us before they sign.
Ask us about your Sriperumbudur site →No. We work from our Chennai offices in Guindy and Pallikaranai, usually one to two hours by road from the SIPCOT parks. We visit plants in the belt regularly, hold interviews on site and appoint a named coordinator for each plant.
Sriperumbudur (including the SEZ), Irungattukottai, Oragadam, Pillaipakkam and Vallam Vadagal, plus the Mambakkam, Sunguvarchatram and Padappai supplier belts and the NH48 warehouses.
Yes. We recruit women operators from the surrounding districts. For night shifts we collect written consent and check transport and safety arrangements, as the OSH Code requires. If you offer a hostel, we explain its terms to candidates before they join.
We agree the headcount curve with you, run local sourcing drives and onboard in batches your training cell can handle. How fast we can go depends on the role mix and on transport. We give you a committed plan once we see the site.
The OSH Code restricts contract labour in core activities, with exceptions such as work ordinarily done through contractors, intermittent work and a sudden increase in volume that must be completed in a set time. Whether your line qualifies depends on the facts, so we discuss it with you and your legal team before deployment.
The cost is the agreed gross wage, which is never below the Tamil Nadu minimum for your schedule and zone, plus employer PF and ESI, bonus, leave and gratuity provisions, our service fee and GST. Wages in the belt usually run above the statutory minimum because large employers set the local market. We send an itemised rate card.
No. Candidates never pay us for a job. Any worker asked for money in our name should call +91 860 850 6800.
