At eight metres, a small handling error becomes a collapsed pallet position, a damaged rack upright and an aisle out of service for a week. Reach truck operator staffing is not forklift staffing with a different label. Godstone Consultech screens for mast handling at height, rack-safety awareness and aisle discipline, employs every worker on our own payroll, and keeps PF, ESI and contract-labour records with us — so the person on your floor is documented, replaceable and accountable from day one.
Beam heights, aisle widths and shift pattern are enough to price.
Reach truck work rewards precision over speed. We test mast handling at your actual beam levels, then induct on rack safety, aisle discipline and damage reporting before deployment.
Much of the rack damage in a warehouse traces back to who was allowed on the truck.
A counterbalance forklift operator is moved onto a reach truck to cover a shift, with no test at height and no rack-safety induction.
A struck upright means an engineering inspection, a blocked aisle, relocated stock and in the worst case a partial collapse with people underneath.
Practical assessment at your beam levels, rack-safety and damage-reporting induction, aisle discipline training and standby cover so shifts are never improvised.
Get a rate card →Move the slider for an indicative monthly bill at a ₹22,500 gross wage, statutory costs and an illustrative 12% service fee (an assumption for the estimate, not our rate; your fee is agreed in your contract). Firm rates follow the state minimum wage for the category and the shift pattern.
What clears before the worker reaches your gate.
The machines look similar in a photo and demand different skills in an aisle. Hire and test for the one you run:
| Machine | Where it works | Operator skill that matters |
|---|---|---|
| Counterbalance forklift | Docks, yards and wide aisles, usually below 5 m | Load stability on the move, ramp and dock discipline |
| Reach truck | Narrow aisles with racking typically up to 10–12 m | Mast reach and tilt at height, residual capacity, positioning at the top beam |
| VNA or turret truck | Very narrow, often guided aisles at greater heights | Guided-aisle rules, turret rotation, working at the highest levels |
| Order picker | Picking cases at height from a rising platform | Fall-protection discipline and pick accuracy |
Counterbalance roles: forklift operator staffing. Pickers, packers and loaders for the same floor: warehouse manpower supply.
A reach truck test on flat ground proves nothing. We test in your aisle, at your top level, with your pallet type where site access allows.
| Stage | What we look for |
|---|---|
| Pre-use check | Mast, chains, reach mechanism, hydraulics, brakes, battery charge and connector, horn and lights |
| Capacity plate | Reads the residual capacity for the actual top-beam height and load centre |
| Put-away at height | Mast lowered while travelling, square approach, reach and tilt used smoothly, pallet seated fully on the beam |
| Retrieval | No dragging or pushing pallets; checks the pallet and load before lowering |
| Scanning | Correct location and pallet scans on the RF gun or WMS terminal |
| Aisle discipline | Horn at aisle ends, stops for pedestrians and order pickers, no travel with the load raised |
A single unreported upright strike is how racking fails. Operators are inducted on a simple traffic-light rating used widely in warehouse practice:
Minor damage within limits — logged and rechecked at the next inspection.
Hazardous damage — no reloading of the bay until repaired, with repair scheduled promptly.
Serious damage — the bay is unloaded under supervision and closed off immediately.
Reach truck operators are usually placed in the skilled or highly skilled grade and usually earn above counterbalance forklift operators. Indicative figures:
| Basis | Amount | Date | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Haryana — skilled / highly skilled | ₹18,500.81 / ₹19,425.85 a month | 1 Apr 2026 | Statutory floors |
| Market pay — forklift operator (Indeed India) | Average ₹18,275; range ₹8,086–₹57,107 | 50 reports, Feb 2026 | No separate reach-truck series is published; reach operators sit at the upper end |

Get a rate card →Reach truck work happens in narrow aisles at height, where mast deflection, load stability and precision matter more than throughput. Operators are tested at your beam levels specifically rather than on flat-ground counterbalance handling.
Yes. A practical assessment at your top beam level, a rack-safety and load-stability check, verification of the training certificate and experience, and a medical and eyesight check all complete before the first shift.
Yes. Damage identification and immediate reporting is part of induction, because unreported upright damage is how a single strike becomes a structural failure.
We aim to deploy in five to nine working days, faster where the local warehouse pool is deep. Standby cover for shift absence is arranged from the start.
Yes. Charging discipline, pre-shift inspection and basic equipment care are part of the operator's scope, with checklists signed per shift.
The weight the truck can safely lift at a given height and load centre — always lower than the headline capacity once the mast is extended. It is shown on the truck's capacity plate. Operators must read it for your top beam level, because a pallet that is safe at two metres can overload the truck at ten.
Your site. The common practice, following EN 15635, is a named person responsible for racking safety, regular visual inspections and an expert inspection at least once a year. Our operators add to it by reporting every strike or deformation immediately, using a green-amber-red damage rating.
Send the role, headcount and site city. We aim to send an itemised rate card and deployment date within one working day.
