Hosur is Tamil Nadu's second big auto belt and now a major electronics and EV hub. It sits about 40 km from Bengaluru, where Karnataka's minimum wages rose sharply in May 2026. That makes Hosur hiring a cross-border contest for the same workers. Godstone Consultech recruits, onboards and pays contract and temporary staff for Hosur plants, managed from our Chennai office, with Tamil Nadu compliance handled.
Tell us the estate or pin code, the roles and the shift pattern. We come back with an itemised rate card and an honest view of the local pool.
We are a Chennai company and we do not have a branch in Hosur. The town is roughly 300 km from our Guindy office, about five to six hours by road. So we plan deployments here with more care: we recruit from Hosur, Krishnagiri and Dharmapuri districts, appoint an on-site coordinator for larger teams, and schedule visits from Chennai for onboarding, reviews and problems that cannot wait.
Everything that does not need to happen at your gate is run centrally from Chennai: payroll, PF and ESI, Tamil Nadu professional tax and labour welfare fund, replacements and monthly reporting. For a site this far away, that matters more than an office in town.
Hosur grew around the SIPCOT estate and now spreads along the Bagalur, Thally and Krishnagiri roads. Pick an area to see the employers there, the roles they need and the commute issues to plan for.
Plant in Krishnagiri, Denkanikottai or Dharmapuri? Send the location. The pool there is smaller and more rural, and we will say so.
Many Hosur workers can choose a job on either side of the border. The labour rules differ too. This is the comparison we walk clients through before we agree a wage band.
| Rule | Hosur (Tamil Nadu) | Attibele, Anekal & Bengaluru (Karnataka) |
|---|---|---|
| Minimum wages | Fixed by scheduled employment and by zone (A to D, depending on the local body). The VDA is revised every April. Most engineering employers in Hosur already pay well above the notified minimum. | A consolidated notification of 22 May 2026 raised rates in every zone. Greater Bengaluru (Zone 1) unskilled rates are now roughly ₹23,000–₹24,500 a month, depending on the employment. Employers have challenged the notification in the High Court, but the State treats it as in force. |
| Professional tax | Half-yearly, collected by Hosur City Municipal Corporation or the relevant panchayat, with slabs set by that local body. | Monthly: nil below ₹25,000 a month, then ₹200 (₹300 in February). |
| Labour welfare fund | ₹20 from the employee and ₹40 from the employer each year, deducted in December and paid by 31 January. | ₹50 from the employee and ₹100 from the employer each year. |
| Shop & office registration | Tamil Nadu Shops and Establishments Act: online registration, mandatory at 10 or more workers. | A September 2026 amendment made registration lifelong and exempted establishments with 10+ workers already registered under the OSH Code. Employers may no longer hold employees' original certificates. |
| State rules under the Labour Codes | Draft stage as of September 2026. Earlier State rules continue where they do not conflict with the Codes. | Draft rules published in 2026. Check for final notification before relying on a form or return. |
| Where the law applies | The law of the place of work applies. A worker who lives in Attibele but works in SIPCOT Hosur is on Tamil Nadu wages, PT and LWF. | The same principle applies the other way. EPF and ESI are national schemes, so a worker keeps the same UAN and ESIC number whichever side they work on. |

Hosur has a deep, experienced industrial workforce, but the same people are courted by several large employers at once, and by Bengaluru.
After Karnataka's 2026 revision, a machine operator can compare offers across the border on the same day. We give you the local going rate for the role, not just the Tamil Nadu minimum, so your offer is competitive from day one.
When a large electronics or EV plant opens a hiring drive, smaller suppliers lose people. We keep in touch with shortlisted candidates and build a standby list for roles where you cannot afford a gap.
Hosur borders Karnataka and is close to Andhra Pradesh, so crews often mix languages. We brief workers on safety rules and pay terms in a language they understand, and write key terms in the appointment letter.
An offer benchmarked to the local market, wages on a fixed date with a clear payslip, and a coordinator workers can call. These retain people better than a one-off joining bonus.
Distance changes how we work, not what we deliver. This is our model for sites outside Chennai.
A call, then a visit by our team to see the plant, the shift pattern, transport and canteen, and to agree the wage band against the local market.
Job portals, referrals from workers already placed, and ITI and polytechnic contacts in Krishnagiri and Dharmapuri districts. We hold walk-ins at a venue near you or at your gate.
Identity, address, education and previous-employer checks. Skilled roles take a practical test on your machines or on equivalent equipment.
Our team comes to Hosur for the first batch: appointment letters, UAN and ESIC enrolment, bank details, induction and PPE issue.
For larger teams we appoint a coordinator, often a senior worker from the batch, who handles attendance and daily issues and reports to our Chennai team.
Payroll, PF, ESI, PT and LWF run from Chennai, with a monthly compliance pack. We hold regular reviews on site or by video, and visit when something needs fixing in person.
We would rather tell you now than lose you in the second month.
Questions Hosur plant and HR managers ask us, answered plainly.
Ask us about your Hosur site →No. We manage Hosur deployments from our Chennai office in Guindy. We recruit locally, run onboarding on site, appoint a coordinator for larger teams and visit on a schedule. Payroll and compliance run from Chennai.
SIPCOT Hosur Phase I and II and the electronics complex, Bagalur and Thally roads, Belagondapalli, Shoolagiri and the Krishnagiri corridor. Plants further out, in Krishnagiri or Dharmapuri, can be covered, though the pool is smaller.
No. The law of the place of work applies, so a plant in Hosur follows Tamil Nadu's minimum wage notification, even for workers who live in Karnataka. But the higher Karnataka rates do affect what workers expect. We benchmark your offer against the local market, not just the Tamil Nadu minimum.
The agreed gross wage, never below the Tamil Nadu minimum for your scheduled employment and zone, plus employer PF (12% of PF wages up to the ₹25,000 ceiling from 17 September 2026), ESI at 3.25% where gross wages are ₹21,000 or less, bonus, leave and gratuity provisions, our service fee and 18% GST. We send an itemised rate card.
Under the OSH Code, which replaced the Contract Labour Act from 21 November 2025, contractor licensing applies at 50 or more contract workers. We confirm the requirement for your headcount before deployment and share our GST, EPFO, ESIC and Udyam registrations.
Yes. That is a common set-up for us: one agreement, site-wise annexures, one payroll and compliance process, and a contact who knows both sites.
Send the estate, roles, headcount and wage band. We will tell you honestly how that wage compares with the Karnataka side and how fast we think we can fill the roles. Call +91 860 850 6800. Or write to info@godstoneconsultech.in.
