Ahmedabad's industry is growing fast: car and semiconductor plants at Sanand, pharma along the Changodar corridor, chemicals in the eastern GIDC estates and financial services at GIFT City. Gujarat is also one of the few States with final rules under all four Labour Codes. Godstone Consultech recruits, onboards and pays contract and temporary staff for Ahmedabad employers, managed from our Chennai office.
Share the estate, roles and shift pattern. We come back with an itemised rate card and an honest view of timelines.
We are a Chennai company, and we have no office in Gujarat. Ahmedabad is about two hours from our Guindy office by air. We recruit locally in Ahmedabad and nearby districts, run trade tests and onboarding at your site, appoint a coordinator for every team and visit on a schedule. Payroll, PF, ESI, Gujarat professional tax and labour welfare fund are handled centrally.
This works best for Ahmedabad employers who want steady teams on monthly contracts with clean records, and for companies in electronics, auto or pharma that already have plants in Tamil Nadu and are adding a Gujarat site.
Ahmedabad's industry spreads west to Sanand, south-west to Changodar, east to the old GIDC estates, north-west to Becharaji and north to Gandhinagar. Pick a belt to see the employers there, the roles in demand and the commute and shift issues to plan for.

Gujarat has final rules under all four Labour Codes, while most States are still working from drafts. That makes compliance more predictable here, but the new forms and registers must be used.
| Rule | What applies in Ahmedabad | What we handle |
|---|---|---|
| Labour Code rules | Gujarat notified final State rules under all four Codes (Wages, Industrial Relations, Social Security and OSH), which apply alongside the Codes from 21 November 2025. The old State rules under repealed Acts, such as the Contract Labour and Factories rules, are replaced. | We keep registers, returns and notices in the Gujarat Code-rule formats, not the old Act formats. |
| Minimum wages | Fixed by scheduled employment in two zones. Zone I covers municipal corporations, urban development authority areas and municipal towns, including Ahmedabad. A special allowance is revised every April and October. For shops and establishments, Zone I was about ₹13,325 a month unskilled and ₹13,900 skilled from 1 April 2026. Factory and engineering schedules have their own rates. | We confirm the schedule and zone for your site and apply each April and October revision. |
| Professional tax | Monthly: nil below ₹12,000; ₹200 from ₹12,000. | We register, deduct and remit monthly. |
| Labour welfare fund | ₹6 from the employee and ₹12 from the employer each half-year (June and December), for establishments with 10 or more employees. | We deduct and remit both instalments for every worker on our rolls. |
| Shops & establishments | The Gujarat Shops and Establishments (RE&CS) Act 2019 applies to establishments with 10 or more workers. Smaller ones file an online intimation within 60 days of starting. | We check the site's registration and keep hours, weekly offs and overtime within its limits. |
| Contract labour | Under the OSH Code and Gujarat's rules, contract-labour provisions and contractor licensing apply at 50 or more contract workers. Contract labour in core activities is restricted, with exceptions. | We confirm registration, licensing and the core-activity question with you before deployment. |

Gujarat's growth is creating new kinds of jobs faster than the local pool is trained for them.
The Sanand ATMP and OSAT plants need operators who can follow cleanroom and ESD discipline, which is new to most local candidates. We screen for that discipline and brief on it, while the employer runs the technical training.
Ahmedabad summers regularly pass 45 °C. Shop floors without cooling, and outdoor loading work, need adjusted shift times, water and rest breaks. Attendance drops when these are ignored.
Navratri and the Diwali–New Year break are big in Gujarat, and many migrant workers go home for Diwali. We plan standby workers and return-date checks around both.
Registers in Gujarat's Code-rule formats, rosters planned around heat and festivals, and a coordinator for every team. Growth years are when compliance gaps start.
Auto, electronics and pharma dominate Ahmedabad's shop-floor demand, with GIFT City adding office support.
| Role | Where the demand is | What we check before deployment |
|---|---|---|
| Semiconductor & electronics operators | Sanand | ESD and cleanroom discipline, gowning practice, dexterity test, education verification |
| Assembly operators & technicians | Sanand, Becharaji–Mandal | Dexterity and torque-tool practice, work-instruction reading, shift and bus-route fit |
| Pharma packing & line staff | Changodar, Moraiya | GMP and hygiene basics, gowning, documentation discipline, medical fitness |
| Chemical-process helpers | Vatva, Naroda, Odhav | Medical fitness, PPE and permit awareness, hazardous-process briefing |
| Welders & fitters | GIDC estates, auto suppliers | Process and position test, fit-up accuracy, hot-work safety |
| Front desk & facility staff | GIFT City, city offices | Communication test (Gujarati, Hindi, English), grooming, SOP walk-through |
Ahmedabad has many established local contractors. This is when we are a good choice, and when we are not.
What Ahmedabad plant, HR and admin teams ask us first.
Ask us about your Ahmedabad site →No. We manage Ahmedabad work from our Chennai office in Guindy. We recruit locally, onboard at your site, appoint a coordinator for every team and visit on a schedule. Payroll and compliance run centrally.
Yes. Gujarat has notified final State rules under all four Labour Codes, unlike most States, which were still working from drafts in September 2026. Registers, returns and notices should follow the new Gujarat formats.
It depends on the scheduled employment. For shops and establishments in Zone I, which includes Ahmedabad, it was about ₹13,325 a month for unskilled work and ₹13,900 for skilled work from 1 April 2026, with the next revision due on 1 October. Factory schedules have their own rates, and market wages are often higher.
The agreed wage, at least the Gujarat minimum for the employment and zone, plus employer PF (12% of PF wages up to the ₹25,000 ceiling from 17 September 2026), ESI at 3.25% where gross wages are ₹21,000 or less, bonus, leave and gratuity provisions, LWF, our service fee and 18% GST. We send an itemised rate card.
We can source and screen candidates for cleanroom and ESD discipline and for the education level required. The plant's own technical training and certification still apply. Requirements vary, so we discuss them with your HR team first.
Yes. One agreement with State-specific annexures, one payroll process, and a contact who knows each State's rules.
