Task frequency matrix

Sweeper and cleaner supply with a frequency matrix, not a headcount guess.

Cleaning standards do not fall in a day — they fall one skipped frequency at a time, until a visitor notices before your facility team does. Sweeper and cleaner supply is priced on area and frequency; anything else is a number someone invented. Godstone Consultech screens for chemical handling, PPE discipline and area-wise task frequencies, employs every worker on our own payroll, and keeps PF, ESI and contract-labour records with us — so the person on your floor is documented, replaceable and accountable from day one.

Cleaner operating an industrial floor scrubbing machine on a plant floor
What the role covers

Floors, washrooms, external areas and waste handling.

Cleaning is a systems job: the right chemical at the right dilution, the right cloth for the right surface, and a frequency that matches footfall. We deploy the system, not just the people.

  • ✓Floor sweeping, mopping and machine scrubbing
  • ✓Washroom cleaning, sanitisation and consumable refills
  • ✓External area, staircase and parking cleaning
  • ✓Waste collection and dry-wet segregation
  • ✓Periodic deep cleaning and façade support

Why cleaning contracts slip after the first quarter

The scope is agreed once, then quietly eroded by attrition and unrecorded absences.

The problem
Hired on a claim, not a check

Nine sanctioned cleaners become seven on the floor, the reliever covers permanently, and frequencies for low-visibility areas stop happening first.

What it costs
What the gap actually costs

Washrooms are what visitors and auditors judge you on. Add an infection-control or hygiene finding at a hospital or food site and the cost stops being cosmetic.

The fix
Frequencies, logs and a monthly audit

A written task-frequency matrix, signed washroom logs, PPE and chemical training on record, and a monthly quality score shared with you.

Role scope

Sweeper, cleaner or washroom attendant — what each does

The titles overlap, but the work, the PPE and the training do not. We deploy against the task, not the label.

Sweeper

Open areas, roads, yards, parking, shop floors and scrap bays: sweeping, litter and dust removal, drain-grating clearance and moving waste to the collection point.

Cleaner

Indoor floors, glass, fixtures and common areas: mopping, wiping and spot cleaning to the frequency matrix.

Washroom attendant

Dedicated to toilets and urinals: hourly checks, refills and a signed log. The highest-visibility cleaning post.

Machine operator

Ride-on or walk-behind sweepers and scrubber-driers for large floors, warehouses and car parks — trained on the specific machine.

Need a full managed team with supervisors? See housekeeping staff agency. For helpers and general-duty crews, see unskilled labour supply.

Chemical discipline

Chemicals, colour codes and the mistakes they prevent

Most cleaning damage and many injuries come from the wrong chemical on the wrong surface. Every cleaner is inducted on this table and the safety data sheets for your site.

Product typeUsed forNever use on or with
pH-neutral floor cleanerDaily mopping of most hard floors—
Acidic descalerToilets, urinals and scale on fittingsMarble or natural stone; never mixed with bleach
Alkaline degreaserKitchens, shop floors, oil marksAluminium, painted or waxed surfaces
Chlorine-based disinfectantWashrooms, spill decontaminationNever with acids or ammonia — releases toxic gas

Colour-coded cloths and mops follow a common convention: red for toilets and urinals, yellow for washbasins and other washroom surfaces, blue for general areas, green for food areas. We agree the scheme with you and keep it the same across shifts.

Safety limits

Work we will not assign to a sweeper

Some tasks look like cleaning but need a different contractor, permit or training. Keeping them out of the sweeper's scope protects the worker and you.

Prohibited

Manual sewer and septic-tank cleaning

Banned by the Manual Scavengers Act 2013. Use mechanised desludging contractors.

Permit only

Confined spaces and work at height

Tanks, pits, roofs and high glazing need a work permit, trained crew and fall or gas protection — not a sweeper with a ladder.

Authorised only

Hazardous and bio-medical waste disposal

Sweepers segregate and move waste to the collection point; transport and disposal stay with your authorised vendor.

Isolated first

Live machinery and electrical panels

No cleaning inside guards or panels until the equipment is isolated by your maintenance team.

Sweeper and cleaner supply FAQs

Screening, cost basis, replacement and deployment speed.

How many cleaners does my site need?+

Headcount follows carpet area, footfall, washroom count and the frequency each area needs. We prepare the frequency matrix first and derive the number from it, then share both before deployment.

Is cleaning equipment and chemical supply included?+

It can be. Scrubbers, vacuums, single-disc machines, mops, chemicals and washroom consumables are either managed by us on a planned cycle or supplied by you, whichever the contract says.

What training do sweepers and cleaners get?+

Chemical selection and dilution, colour-coded cloth discipline, washroom sanitisation protocol, waste segregation, machine handling, and PPE and safety induction before deployment.

How is the standard monitored?+

Signed daily logs per area, a weekly supervisor round, and a monthly quality score shared with your facility team, with escalation response times written into the agreement.

Do you handle biomedical or industrial waste areas?+

Yes, with category-specific training recorded per worker — colour-coded segregation under the Bio-Medical Waste Management Rules 2016 for hospitals, with hepatitis B and tetanus immunisation, and your hazardous-waste procedure for industrial premises. Final disposal stays with your authorised waste vendor.

Can sweepers clean sewers, septic tanks or manholes?+

Not manually. The Prohibition of Employment as Manual Scavengers and their Rehabilitation Act 2013 bans hazardous manual cleaning of sewers and septic tanks, and the Supreme Court in 2023 raised compensation for sewer deaths to ₹30 lakh. We do not deploy sweepers for this work; use a mechanised desludging or sewer-cleaning contractor with trained, equipped crews.

What PPE do sweepers and cleaners get?+

Uniform, closed shoes or gumboots, rubber gloves, and masks and goggles where chemicals or dust are involved; high-visibility vests for yards and roads. Area-specific PPE — ear protection or hard hats on a shop floor — is issued to match your site rules.

How is sweeper and cleaner pricing calculated?+

On the sanctioned headcount at or above the State minimum wage, plus employer PF and ESI, bonus, leave and gratuity provision, uniform and PPE, plus the service fee agreed in the contract. Machines and chemicals are either supplied by you or billed as an itemised monthly line.
