A driver on your gate pass is your liability the moment the vehicle moves. Our driver staffing services put verified drivers behind your wheels — licence class checked against the vehicle, endorsement history pulled, address and antecedents verified, duty and rest hours rostered — all on our payroll with PF, ESI and insurance in place, so a challan or an incident does not become a question about who employed the person.
Vehicle type, shift pattern and city are enough to price a driver contract.
Driver requirements differ by licence class, route type and duty pattern. We match the category to the vehicle and the road, then roster duty hours so fatigue is not managed by luck.
It is a challan you cannot defend, a claim the insurer questions, and a vehicle standing idle.
A driver with an LMV licence on an HMV vehicle voids more than compliance — it voids the argument you will need after any incident.
Every absent driver is a stationary asset. Every unverified one is a claim your insurer can contest and a customer commitment you cannot keep.
Licence and antecedent verification on file, duty and rest hours rostered, and a standby pool that aims to fill an absence within 48 hours.

What we check before a driver reaches your gate.
The licence has to match the vehicle, and the screening has to match the job. How the common company-driver roles differ:
| Role | Vehicles | Licence and documents | Screening focus |
|---|---|---|---|
| Executive chauffeur | Cars and SUVs | LMV licence | Etiquette, confidentiality, city routes, long spread-over hours |
| Staff-car or pool driver | Cars, MUVs, cabs for shift transport | LMV licence; police verification where women employees travel at night | Night driving, punctuality, route and escort discipline |
| Van or light-commercial driver | Vans and goods carriers up to 7,500 kg gross weight | LMV licence (covers these after the 2024 Supreme Court ruling) | Loading discipline, trip sheets, city delivery routes |
| Staff-bus driver | Buses and mini-buses | Transport licence for the class, State badge where required, Form 1A medical | Passenger safety, defensive driving, fatigue management |
Trucks and trailers: see truck driver supply. Two-wheeler fleets: see delivery rider staffing.
Every item is recorded in the driver's file and re-checked on a schedule, not just at joining.
| Check | How it is done |
|---|---|
| Licence status | Class, validity and any suspension checked online on the Parivahan Sarathi service; expiry tracked |
| Age | At least 18 for an LMV licence and 20 for a transport vehicle under the Motor Vehicles Act |
| Medical fitness | Form 1A medical certificate for transport licences; eyesight and general fitness check for every driver |
| Driving test | Practical test on your vehicle category, including reversing, parking and a city or highway stretch |
| Challan history | Pending e-challans against the licence checked before joining |
| Antecedents | Address and police verification, previous-employer reference |
Driver fatigue is a roster problem before it is a driving problem. The rules for motor transport workers now sit in the OSH Code 2020, which replaced the Motor Transport Workers Act 1961.
Working hours include driving time, subsidiary work such as vehicle checks, paperwork and garaging, and short waits at terminals — not just time behind the wheel.
Beyond eight hours a day is overtime, with the driver's consent, paid at twice the ordinary wage rate. Chauffeur duties with long spread-over need it budgeted.
One day off in seven. Motor transport services may shift the weekly holiday, but never beyond ten consecutive working days.
Drivers are usually placed in the skilled grade of the State notification, and some schedules list drivers separately. Indicative figures:
| State / category | Minimum wage (monthly) | In force from | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tamil Nadu — shops & commercial establishments, driver | ₹14,120 (Zone A) to ₹13,906 (Zone D) | 1 Apr 2026 | Basic plus VDA of ₹7,353 |
| Haryana — skilled | ₹18,500.81 | 1 Apr 2026 | Heavy-vehicle drivers may fall in the highly skilled grade (₹19,425.85) |
| Market pay — driver (Indeed India) | Average ₹15,993; range ₹8,097–₹31,588 | 640 reports, Jul 2026 | Chauffeur and bus roles sit at the upper end |

Driver contracts go wrong over challans, fuel and paperwork. Write these down; numbers are agreed per fleet.
Executive chauffeurs, staff-car and pool drivers, LMV and light-commercial van drivers, and staff-bus drivers holding a transport licence and the badge your State requires. For trucks and trailers see our truck driver supply page, and for two-wheeler fleets our delivery rider staffing page. Category is matched to the vehicle and route before deployment.
Licence class, validity and endorsement history are checked, along with Aadhaar, address and previous-employer verification, a practical driving test on your vehicle category, and a medical and eyesight check.
A standby driver covers the duty, and we aim to deploy a permanent replacement within 48 hours. Attendance is reported daily so gaps are visible to you, not discovered at month end.
On the State minimum wage for the driver's category — often the skilled grade — plus employer PF and ESI, bonus, leave and gratuity provision and uniform, plus the service fee agreed in the contract. Overtime at twice the wage rate, night allowance and outstation allowance are billed at actuals.
The driver remains accountable for driving conduct and we are the employer for all employment purposes, including disciplinary action and settlement. The escalation and recovery process for challans is written into the agreement.
Up to a point. In November 2024 a Constitution Bench of the Supreme Court held that an LMV licence covers transport vehicles with a gross vehicle weight of up to 7,500 kg, so a van or small goods carrier in that range can be driven on an LMV licence. Heavier goods vehicles and buses need a licence for that class, and many States also require a badge for public service vehicles.
You can be. Section 180 of the Motor Vehicles Act penalises the owner or person in charge who allows an unlicensed driver to drive, and an insurer can recover a paid third-party claim from the owner when the driver was not validly licensed. That is why we check licence status online before deployment and track expiry dates.
Send the vehicle types, shift pattern and city. We aim to send a rate card and verification scope within one working day.
